Pierrette and Rudy HOLIERHOEK: For 12 years we have been welcoming vacationers or workers in our old house. This gîte is part of a set of 3 buildings which were built in 1937. The first use of these places was as a municipal slaughterhouse. Closed in 1974, it was used for nearly 25 years by the town hall of Hérisson for rental purposes. In 1999 we bought this place and brought it back to life. We first renovated the old caretaker's house where we lived for almost 10 years (current gite), then we renovated the stables (current main house). Rudy, gardener by profession, is passionate about "plants". He plants, prunes, cuts, maintains these different gardens. Pierrette, professor and librarian, arranges the interiors, recovers furniture and brings these houses to life.

This studio located on the 1st floor of the owners' house benefits from an independent entrance and a direct view of the river, the Aumance. Calm and relaxation guaranteed in this green setting. Enjoy the surrounding riverside garden and let yourself be lulled by the sounds of nature. Visit Hérisson, a medieval village with its ancient remains that fans of old stones will appreciate and discover the Tronçais forest for hikes in the heart of unspoiled nature. Cosne d’Allier 12 km. Vallon en Sully 10 km. 1st floor: bedroom with 1 bed for 2 people open to the kitchen and the lounge area with 2 armchairs. Sanitary area with shower and sink, equipped with a screen for more privacy. Independent toilet. The advantages of the gîte: sheets and beds made upon your arrival, bathroom linen and tea towels included, end-of-stay cleaning.
Washing machine available on request. Are there more than two of you? On site there is a second gîte for 6 people. Heating price: €5 per day payable by the customer.
