After having, for more than 20 years, worked on the restoration of Pourqueyrol, we decided to create a rural lodging in order to offer the calm and serenity of our hamlet to tourists often overwhelmed with stress and noise in their professional life. For us, a gite is both an opportunity for encounters, proposals for discovering a Périgord where life is good, rich in the calm of its paths, the beauty of its villages, a cultural life and an often overlooked heritage. To this end, I offer residents the reading-discovery of the exceptional sculpted porch of the 11th century of the church of Besse. Without forgetting the pleasures of gastronomy and vineyards...

Description of the accommodation

7 km from Villefranche du Périgord (All shops), 90 m2 house adjoining the owners' private library. Ground floor: Living room with kitchen area with insert fireplace and WiFi internet connection. (no rooms on the ground floor). Separate WC. Floor: 2 bedrooms: 2 90 cm beds and 1 160 cm bed. Bathroom. Separate WC. Electric heating. Laundry room. Enclosed land of 3 ha shared with the owner including 800 m2 reserved for the gîte. 2 south-facing terraces, one with pergola. Garden Lounge. Sun bathing. Barbecue. Gîte deposit to be paid on arrival €250.
Baby equipment: baby bed, high chair, bathtub, changing table, bottle warmer, playpen, equipment possible for twins. In the heart of the Pays du Châtaignier, beautiful restoration of a 19th century barn. shared between the gîte and the owners' library. Le Pourqueyrol is located at the top of a wooded hill, protected from the northern winds by the forest, shaded by old oaks in summer, far from any noise or olfactory pollution. Independent from the owners' house, this gîte shares with them the access path and the parking lot at the entrance to the property. On arrival everything is ready for the holidays: beds made, linens and organic cleaning products for dishes, laundry and cleaning. 30km to the north: Dordogne valley and castles. 30 km to the South: Lot Valley. 60 km to the north, International Center for Cave Art Lascaux IV in Montignac.
