His great-great-granddaughter, Eugénie de Coucy, was born there in 1791. She was the second wife of Marshal of the Empire Nicolas Oudinot and later became Duchess of Reggio.
The village is crossed by the Lanterne River (a first-category fishing river), offering opportunities for fishing, as well as in two nearby ponds with a total surface area of 75 hectares. A 7 km educational trail runs around the perimeter of these ponds, allowing visitors to observe and discover their biodiversity.

The village is also located within a Natura 2000 protected area, with its numerous ponds and wetlands where many bird species thrive, including kingfishers, swans, storks, and mylans.
