The seaside resort of Carnon-Plage is the closest to Montpellier (13 km, about 15 minutes drive). It's a family resort with 7 km of fine sandy beaches stretching from the port of Carnon to La Grande-Motte, where you'll find a wide range of activities. You can also find shops and restaurants along the beach or in the harbor. Local markets are held 3 times a week in summer, and there's a craft market on the port every Wednesday.
