THE BAULE

A seaside resort on the Côte d’Amour bordering the Atlantic Ocean, Baie Le Pouliguen – La Baule-Pornichet joined the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World in November 2011.
The city is known for its magnificent beach, its shopping avenues (Lajarrige and De Gaulle), its large hotels, as well as its casino.

• History: Saint-Aignan church. 1866: designed in neo-Gothic style by the architect Benjamin Ricard, it was built on the site of the old church destroyed in a fire in 1861. It contains, among other things, a small gallery organ which was dismantled and some of which parts were left behind. It was bombed during the Second World War on June 17, 1940.
