Your hosts:
Pierrette and Rudy Holierhoek: For 17 years, we have welcomed vacationers and workers to our former home. This gîte is part of a group of three buildings constructed in 1937. The site was first used as a municipal slaughterhouse. Closed in 1974, it was then used for nearly 25 years by the Hérisson town hall for rental purposes. In 1999, we bought the property and brought it back to life. We first renovated the former caretaker's house, which we lived in for almost 10 years (the current gîte), and then we renovated the stables (now the main house). Rudy, a nurseryman, is passionate about plants. He plants, prunes, trims, and maintains these various gardens. Pierrette, a teacher-librarian, furnishes the interiors, salvages furniture, and brings these houses to life.
