In 2004, Noëlle and Yves bought the old priory adjoining the church of Beaulieu sur Sonnette. Driven by the same passion for architecture and history, they completely restored this 15th century priory, modified in the 18th century, in order to create a place that resembles them... Interior architect and designer, Yves has carried out research in the departmental archives, then recreated the structures and destroyed walls, such as those of the tower, brought to light the old openings and chimneys, proceeded with the fittings of modern comfort, then produced the unique pieces that make up the furniture.

Description of the accommodation

On the ground floor: beautiful entrance with traditional maiden hearts paving, living room with fireplace, combining kitchen and dining room, lounge (with fireplace, sofa, TV, DVD player, radio CD player) Access to a 25m² terrace and the private enclosed garden 2000 m² overlooking the valley. On the lower floor: a bedroom with 200x200 bed with independent entrance and access to a 42 m² terrace, bathroom with bathtub and shower, toilet, linen room and 2nd toilet. On the upper floor, going up the superb 15th century staircase: a bedroom with 180x200 bed, television and open bathroom (very large shower), private toilet. Travel cot and high chair available. Fiber WIFI.
Wood included for the fireplaces. Sheets, bathroom and kitchen linen provided, beds made on arrival. Possibility of using the owners' swimming pool located 3km away (package 200€/week). Near the church of Beaulieu sur Sonnette, in Charente Limousine, this former priory (15th century, modified in the 18th century) has been entirely restored with traditional materials which have preserved all its authenticity. Here, ancient architecture and designer decoration combine harmoniously: the furniture is composed exclusively of unique pieces, which Yves specially created and produced for this authentic place. From the terrace shaded by a plant pergola, we discover the serene landscape of the Sonnette valley which flows at the foot of the village.
