Gite Asquins, 3 bedrooms, 5 persons - FR-1-819-907

In this magnificent region of Burgundy, 1.5 km from Vézelay, located in the heart of the Morvan Regional Natural Park, we offer several cottages surrounded by nature on 60 hectares of land. The 115 m² Vauban cottage is a former hunting lodge of Vauban. It bears Vauban's mark and is steeped in history. The ground floor comprises an entrance hall, a living room with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen/dining room, a shower room, and a toilet. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms (two with queen-size beds and one with a single bed), a bathroom, and a toilet.

A large heated swimming pool (14 m x 7 m) and a sauna (€60/hour) are shared with the other cottages on the property. The pool is open from May 15th to October 1st, weather permitting.

Utilities and extras:

Electricity, heating, and linens are included.

Optional cleaning: €80
Pets are accepted subject to the owner's agreement and a €300 security deposit, with an additional €15 cleaning fee for the duration of your stay.

Good news! Since January 27, 2026, the property has been officially designated a "Grand Site de France" by ministerial decree, following 15 years of lengthy administrative procedures and a profound transformation of the area to showcase iconic landscapes recognized by UNESCO.

This recognition is a victory for us, as we have been fighting for twenty years to save and restore all the abandoned 11th-century buildings and the historic site, nestled in a peaceful and unspoiled natural setting within the national forest.
